Eating out is part of life, and one meal won't make or break your progress. A few simple choices let you enjoy it and still stay on track.
Before you go
- Have a normal breakfast and lunch. Skipping meals usually leads to over-ordering.
- Look at the menu online and pick something in advance.
- Ask your Nouri coach: "I'm eating at a Thai place tonight, what should I order?"
At the table
- Start with a broth-based soup or salad.
- Choose grilled, steamed or baked over fried or creamy.
- Ask for sauces and dressings on the side.
- Share a starter or a dessert rather than skipping it and feeling deprived.
- Drink water between alcoholic drinks.
Smart picks by cuisine
| Cuisine | Lighter choices | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Thai | Tom yum, larb, grilled fish, steamed rice | Pad thai, green curry with coconut milk, fried spring rolls |
| Italian | Tomato-based pasta, grilled fish, minestrone | Creamy sauces, garlic bread, large pizzas |
| Japanese | Sashimi, nigiri, miso soup, edamame | Tempura, mayo-heavy rolls, ramen with fatty broth |
| Chinese | Steamed dishes, stir-fried greens, clear soups | Sweet and sour, deep-fried dishes, fried rice |
| Fast food | Grilled chicken sandwich, salad, small fries | Large combos, milkshakes, double burgers |
Afterwards
Log it honestly (a photo is enough) and move on. One rich meal is a small part of your week: a lighter breakfast and a walk tomorrow is all it takes.
